Cheque Cashing Terms and Conditions

A & B Accounts Services Limited (‘The Company’) reserves the right to refuse to process a transaction if the Cheque does not meet the requirements laid out in our Terms and Conditions below:

Terms and Conditions:

  • All Cheques must be genuine. Customer must be 18+.
  • Customer must present both address & physical I.D when each Cheque is cashed (please see the section below on ‘Customer Identification Requirements’).
  • Customer presenting the Cheque must be the payee named on the Cheque.
  • The Company reserves the right to contact the Drawer of the cheque to confirm the customer’s entitlement to the funds.
  • The Cheque must be dated within 14 days of presentation, and signed in accordance with the Drawers Mandate.
  • If the Cheque is issued from a Business that ‘The Company’ is not familiar with, then the Drawer may be subject to credit reference checks. The transaction may be refused if satisfactory scoring is not received or if the Customer is a director of the Drawers business.
  • Contact details for the Drawer must be provided if requested.
  • The Cheque will be refused if it made payable to a Limited Liability Partnership, Limited Company or Public Listed Company
  • If requested, the Customer must be able to provide a reason for the Cheque issue.
  • If the Customer is bankrupt, trustee information is required before a Cheque can be processed.
  • Customer must not display abusive behaviour to staff. The Police will be alerted if The Company’s staff feels threatened in any way.
  • Customer must not have any outstanding debts with A & B Accounts Services Ltd.
  • For The Company’s Bank Liability and AML requirements, all Cheques above the value of £5000 require authorisation from The Company’s Head Office. Customers may therefore need to wait for this authorisation to be confirmed.
  • Should a Drawers Cheque be returned for whatever reason, the Customer will be required to refund the full amount of that Cheque back to The Company. A ‘Customer Indemnity’ form is required to be signed by the Customer when casing a Cheque to confirm this Customer liability.
  • The Company reserves the right to refuse any Cheque without giving their reasons for doing so to the Customer.

Please note: If we are able to process your transaction, a full payout cannot be guaranteed. This is dependent upon Cheque value, if the transaction exceeds the monies held in store or if the Cheque fails to meet all of our terms and conditions. Please telephone our office for further details.
